Let’s build a life you enjoy.

I work with highly motivated adult individuals and couples (LGBTQ+ affirming) across Wisconsin and Illinois, helping them navigate trauma, anxiety, relationship challenges, women’s health issues, and sex-related concerns.

Specialty Treatment Areas

  • Medical trauma

  • Religious trauma

  • Interpersonal and childhood trauma

  • One-time traumatic events and phobias

  • Navigating peri/postmenopause

  • Female sexual pain disorders

  • Codependency

Using a wide range of different modalities and techniques, I view my role as a guide who creates transformational experiences, providing the conditions necessary for you to find resolution, peace... or simply yourself.

I have specialized training in:

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR): Reprocess distressing experiences so they lose their emotional charge and stop interfering with your life. Bilateral stimulation (eye movements or tapping) enables the integration of upsetting memories into normal memory networks. EMDR has been said to “go where traditional talk therapy can’t,” because it restructures neural networks in the brain.
My methodology with EMDR is trauma-informed and prioritizes your sense of safety. I take a “slow is smooth, smooth is fast” approach, ensuring that you always feel completely in control and have all the necessary tools onboard to be an observer of your past, but not relive it.

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT): Create a deeper sense of safety, connection, and fulfillment by identifying and altering negative cycles that keep you or your relationship stuck.

Sex Therapy: Sexual health IS health, and issues with it have a tremendous impact on your relationship and life satisfaction. Currently training in sex therapy and sexuality education through the University of Michigan, I have specialized education in perimenopause/postmenopause and female sexual pain disorders.

I also weave into these modalities experiential exercises (Gestalt), somatic techniques to regulate the nervous system and help you better tune into your emotions, work with changing unhelpful thought patterns (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), and tools with in-session practice for healthier communication/conflict (Gottman).

About me

Prior to being a therapist, I spent a decade as a research analyst in the business world. I now combine my love of research with my passion to push the field of sexual health forward as a volunteer researcher on the Sexual Medicine Research Team (SMRT) led by urologist and sexual medicine specialist Dr. Rachel Rubin. I also use my unquenchable curiosity to stay tuned into cutting edge treatments and techniques that might help my clients.

In my free time, I enjoy attending the arts—from the symphony, to ballet, to a local jazz lounge, traveling and exploring new places (park me in front of a castle or some mountains and I’ll be happy), playing games with friends, spending time outside with my partner, reading, and snuggling with my sweet calico kitty. I love puns and dark humor, and I hate “therapy speak” (but sometimes I can’t help it!).
