Stephanie Erstad MS, LPC-IT
Hello and Welcome!
Among my main goals for clients engaging in therapy is that they feel safe, heard, and seen within our relationship and within their lives. Providing empathy, support and a safe space to share are of the utmost importance to me and absolutely essential for deep and meaningful self-exploration.
My approach is both person-centered and trauma-informed, and I like to assist clients in learning new coping and ways of perceiving the world that might challenge their current beliefs. The variety of modalities I draw from include parts work/IFS and ACT, and I believe psychoeducation and understanding our struggles and traumas from a biology-based point of view to be extremely helpful.
I emphasize self-compassion and self-care as important elements to embarking on a healing journey, and my hope is to help you to do the work along this journey, all in an environment where warmth and encouragement are in abundance.
I graduated from UW-Milwaukee with my master’s in clinical mental health counseling and have a certificate in trauma-informed care. I also practice brainspotting, a modality for treating trauma. In my free time, I like to read, cook, play with my dog, and spend time with family and friends.
If you’d like to start your healing journey and believe we might be a good fit, please reach out to me at 414-291-9487, ext. 516 or email me at stephanie@newprospectscounseling.com
