I’m Amelia, a therapist who works with adults of all ages, with a particular focus on young adults navigating identity-related concerns, relationships, anxiety, and trauma.
In session, I show up as warm, relational, and authentic, and I prioritize creating a supportive space where you can show up exactly as you are. I welcome all parts of you, including the ones that may feel confusing, burdensome, or difficult to understand. I am neurodivergent-affirming and familiar with many of the unique challenges experienced by neurodivergent folks.
My work is largely grounded in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), which emphasizes cultivating psychological flexibility. In practice, this means helping clients develop more effective ways of responding to difficult thoughts, emotions, and life challenges so they can act in alignment with their values and move toward a life that feels meaningful and fulfilling by their own definition. I also integrate tools from other modalities, including DBT and somatic-based approaches, to support emotional regulation, nervous system awareness, and a greater sense of safety and connection in the body.
When I'm not in the office, you will usually find me thinking about history, weightlifting, art, niche subcultures and dogs.
If this resonates with you, and you think we might be a good fit, I’d love to connect! You are welcome to reach out to me via email at amelia@newprospectscounseling.com or (414) 291-9487 ext 514
